Evoking the 'Chinese curse,' "May you live in interesting times," Musica da Camera's 45th season comes after a year of "interesting times": the BP spill disaster, the election of Mayor Mitch Landrieu, and — needless to say — the New Orleans Saints' miraculous and long-awaited Super Bowl victory. Typefaces and headlines from The Times-Picayune and the three concert icons together draw parallels between our "city of interesting times" and the 45th season's music: an Italian codex opens to reveal the Piazza d'Italia, and the Holy Family (with Mary in the form of Our Lady of Prompt Succor) looks down upon the Brees family.
